Paranormal Activity 2 (R)

This movie is VERY scary. It's not a basic horror movie, with psycho killers. In Paranormal Activity 2, evil spirits are targeting a family. So they put security cameras in their house so they can see how these things are happening. They also record some things with a hand-held video camera. It seems very real, and it is hard to handle for some people. The baby boy, Hunter, is the only one who can seemingly see the spirits, besides the dog. Two people get possessed, and two people die. Something happens to the dog. It may have been attacked by spirits. I do NOT suggest this for children under the age of 14. It is better to watch in groups of friends than by yourself. Not much happens in the beginning, but then scary things start happening. It is fun if you want a thrill.

Rise of the Planet of The Apes (PG-13)

This exciting new film (2011) is a remake of the old "Planet of the Apes." In the beginning, apes are being used to test drugs to make a cure for a disease. This drug makes them incredibly smart. One ape gets over-angry one time. She was just protecting her baby, who falls into the hands of the scientist leading the drug experiment. He brings the chimp into his home and Ceaser (the ape) grows into a healthy young animal. But things happen and before you know it, Ceaser ends up in an animal control center and things go viral. Watch this movie and see what happens to the new Planet of the Apes.

I really enjoyed this movie. There isn't as much violence as you would think, but sometimes things get intense. There is also a good amount of bad language, but overall the storyline is very good. Ceaser, one of the apes, has a strong bond with the scientist, and that is a very good part in the movie. I definately vote this movie for ages 12 and up.

You Again (PG)

In You Again, Marni used to be the nerd of the school in highschool. After highschool she was relieved to be gone and grew up and became really pretty. But then her brother declares that he has engaged to the woman he loves... which is none other than her highschool enemy, Joanna. Watch this movie and see how Marni deals with this enemy, and if she even is her enemy still.

I enjoyed this comedy with a friend. It is okay to watch when you are 10 or even 9. So enjoy this movie as much as I did! :D

It's a Boy Girl Thing (PG-13)

I loved this movie and it's high school storyline. It's basically about a boy and a girl who are both teenagers, but despise each other. But whats worse is that they are next-door neighbors! One day on a field trip at school they declare how much they hate each other, but they say it in front of an ancient god statue, which switches their souls! Now they have to live each others lives while trying to figure out how to get back into their own bodies. After living each other's lives for only a day, they are already sick of it. They have to find out how to help each other through this problem and how to work together.

This movie is very entertaining but it is pretty inappropriate and has some perverted parts :P
You might want to watch it with a friend. It's funner that way ;) I would suggest this movie for 14 and up... seriously you should not watch this until you are mature enough. (But when you aren't mature it's hilarious!)

Valentine's Day (PG-13)

This valentine's Day is full of twists and turns. When one man proposes to his girlfriend she says yes, only to change her mind later. And an"I hate valentine's Day" party didn't turn out so bad. This is about love, relationships, friendship, and how a lot can change in a day. Watch this movie for laughs and love.

Valentine's Day was very fun to watch. Anyone who loves comedy and romance with a little mix-up should definitely watch this. And many famous actors star in this show, including Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx and many more (see 'Starring' below). I suggest this movie for ages 13 and up. Good movie for teen girls to watch with their friends.

The King's Speech (R)

The King's Speech is about the new King of Britain's struggle to overcome his stuttering. In this very touching story, King George VI (also known as Bertie) searches for a speech therapist who can help him, until he finds the perfect one, who becomes his closest friend. This movie contains bad use of mouth. There is one scene where the King uses bad words to help him with his speech therapy.  In the meantime, all of Europe is engaged in World War II, and calls for Britain to help fight. King George must represent his country with his most important speech, and finally become worthy of his position.

I thought the King's Speech had a very good message in it, but I would suggest this for ages 14 and up because of language. Watch with an adult like I did if you are under 15.

17 Again (PG-13)

In '17 Again,' Mike O'Donnel, a middle-aged husband with no job, starts to regret his life. His wife Scarlett is planning for a divorce and his kids want to have nothing to do with him. While visiting his old high school,  he confesses his wish to be young again to a strange janitor, who grants that wish. The next day Mike finds himself looking exactly like he did when he was 17. He goes to high school thinking that he was turned back so he could have another chance to get his scholarship in basketball, but he later finds that the janitor wanted Mike to help who was important to him.

I thought this movie was good to watch. I would suggest it more for ages 13 and up, because of some of the older age content. But it is a good movie to watch for high-schoolers who want movies that involve highschool and comedy.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (PG-13)

First I would like to say that this movie has been out for a while, but since I only recently started this blog, I will write the review now.

I loved the finale to the Harry Potter series. It's especially fun to see with a group of friends. The final battle with Voldemort and his Death Eaters is exciting and has you on the edge of your seat. At the end, you will want to see it over and over again!
